Black AQHA Gelding
~15.1h, 1250lbs ~

FOR SALE: BSR Peppy's Devil, "Black Jack" 2007 Handsome, Well Broke All-Around, Black AQHA gelding.

Peppy San Badger & Doc Bar bred with a kind, gentle, fun loving personality “Black Jack” is people oriented and easy on the eyes. After JoLinn’s bad accident, he was one of the horses she chose to use for her rehab due to his calm personality!

Black Jack has logged hundreds of hours on the trails with professional and amateur riders and handles man-made and natural terrain with sureness and ease; including rocks, logs, steep draws, brush, live creek crossings, mud/bogs, wildlife and cattle work. Raised and used on a large cattle ranch he is accustomed to life with dog & cats under feet and heavy equipment and traffic traveling close to him. He has been started team roping as well as ranch roping (doctoring & branding). He spends time turned out with a mixed herd of mares and geldings and “plays well with others”, but is also used to being stalled.

In addition, he has traveled thousands of miles with us to our Extreme Trail and Ranch Horse Versatility clinics and has seen many different arenas & obstacle courses, and a variety of stalling situations. He has excellent ground manners, ties, loads and trailers well.

At his first show, the 2012 Mountain Trail Challenge in Eugene, he won the Championship and displayed such natural talent as is seldom seen in a novice horse at his first show. Advanced riders will appreciate his training level while novice and amateur riders will gain confidence and skills from his laid back ways. He is currently advancing well in his arena work.

With a style that veers towards Traditional Bridle Horse methods he rides well in the snaffle, hackamore, and is currently working through the bridle process. He has spent the last two years being used in Mike Bridges Bridle Horse Project groups. He is light in his responses, willing and brave; he wants to please his handler and is game to try anything presented to him. He’s a perfect candidate for Competitive Trail, Trail Trials, Sorting or Ranch Versatility/Stock Horse, Cowboy Dressage and Ranch Rodeo/Ropings.
